Trick or Treat!

Halloween was great and even more fun now that Jacob understands what's going on! I really built it up for him. We sang pumpkins songs, did Halloween themed circle time together, and even praticed ringing the bell and saying, "Trick or treat!". All those years of working with kids are paying off. hehe

He handed out candy to the droves of kids that came. I was really surprised that he was able to part with the candy like that. Then he was in awe about walking through our neighbourhood at night collecting candy. I loved watching him experience it. :-)

Hope you had a good one!

Time Flies

Hard to believe that Madison has already hit the six month mark. It has passed so quickly. She's already sitting up and pulling herself around. She started solids too.

Jacob is a super big brother. No one can make her giggle as much as him. Although not too hard considering what a smiley girl she is.

We've been camping a lot this season. It's been one of the best summers. It's great because we don't have to pack and pin the trailer after a few days. The trailer has been here since July 1st weekend.

Rich has started his new job and loves it. The campground is close to his work or he can work from here since there's a wireless connection. So it feels like we've been on an extended holiday.

We love the campground and will probably be back next year. There's a wonderful lake that's super clean, there are horses, tons of frogs, snakes, art in the park, bingo, dances, scuba diving, a park, and the people are really friendly.

Baby Bear

Love the weather...The trees have started to turn but people are still swimming in October!

Gobble Gobble!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us!

Welcome Madison

Yep it's been awhile! Granted I've been super busy. I can't keep up with a blog too! Hard to believe Madison is already two months and Jacob will be two this month!

All bets are in. Madison is a....redhead! I am sooo happy about that. Once upon a time I didn't like red hair, now I adore it! It's really beautiful and so rare. Madison's is lighter than Jacob's was as a baby.

Maddie's birth went much smoother than his. I didn't spend over twenty hours in labour this time.  It was great, I showed up, got prepped, and voila! There was my baby! Well maybe not that easy considering my mild panic attack before surgery but that's a whole other story...ask me another day! hehe
It went so well that they let us go home after only two nights. I think getting back to Jacob was my biggest motivation. I missed him so much.
He greeted his sister so well, he had us in tears. He put little toys next to her and foam letters on her head.

Daddy before surgery.

Welcome Madison! Should I have posted this? You're lucky it wasn't the surgery! ;-)

We still can't believe how much she looks like Jacob as a baby.

The Crew

My new crew. Phew, not the only girl anymore! Can't wait for all things girlie!

Jacob enjoying the outdoors and warm weather. What doesn't he enjoy?!?
This boy has a serious joie de vivre!

He also had fun planting impatients but had way more fun watering the flowers and trying to drown worms.

Our neighbourhood has a weekend long garage sale where you don't need a permit. I was hunting down a little house for Jacob to have in the backyard. After it all ended, I found one left by the curb. I guess I'm guilty of dumpster diving. I've been looking on kijiji to see if I could get a deal but haven't seen anything. I was ready to buy one at full price. It's in perfect shape and Jacob loves it. :-)

Madison is a relatively quiet and sleepy baby. She definetely has her loud moments and she's tough to feed sometimes. Breastfeeding has been a challenge because of her sleepiness and keeping up with Jacob.

I still cannot believe that I have a girl!!! Yipppeee!
A huge thank you to everyone for your thoughtful gifts, cards and help while we were in the hospital!

Super Speedy Update

All is well. I'm home now, it feels great but I'm adjusting to a calmer paced routine...for now.
My surgeon moved my due date ahead to March 31 instead of April 9. The baby weighs about 8.5lbs already! That explains all the back aches! How do people with potbellies do it?
Wish me luck I can't wait to meet her. Rich asked the Dr. to confirm that it was a girl. I had my doubts too because I was getting so big! it reminded me a lot of Jacob. She said that it happened twice last year that they were wrong! Anyway, it's for sure a girl!!! Only four more sleeps till we meet!!!
We're taking bets on hair colour. Red or brown? I say brown!

Sweetheart

I must say baby Jacob has such a love for animals. This is a little turtle figurine that my parents kept from when I lived at home. Jacob loves it and decided to feed it some cheese.
He is so sweet to animals big and small!

Happy V-Day Update!

Jacob got a surprise from his Uncle Billy (my bro) recently. Apparently animal hats are all the craze in Korea. Here's Jacob modelling his new furry friend.

...and Papaya Maya sitting pretty (this one makes me laugh A LOT)

...Lexi tolerated it. She's great for an old doll

I absolutely melted when Rich sent me a pic of this Valentine bear that Jacob made at playschool.
This is the first homemade thing that I've received from him. I will cherish it always!

Rich sent me my fav flowers to work. They were so fresh and beautiful! So cheerful.
We also decided to celebrate V-day two weeks early this year so we could dodge the insanity. We spent the night downtown and had supper at La Louisianne. Then it was off for a massage the next day. A friend also sent us a yummy fruit and cheese platter. It was amazing to have a mini getaway and was much needed.

I didn't think I'd be this proud of Jacob for finishing his first session at Le Petit Gym. He looks adorable with his little medal :-) I like to squeeze him lots!
Not the greatest pic but I think the face he's making is so cute. xox

Meow

A few weeks ago, I was saying how I missed having a little kitty running around.
I went out to do some groceries later that day. When I came home, I heard the cutest little meow coming from the backyard. It scared the poop out of me because I was dreading the outcome should my dogs have been back there. Well just Lexi because she can be pretty territorial. She has squirrel issues.
I let the kitty out of the backyard and checked his paws etc.. for frostbite. He was the sweetest thing. I went inside and figured he'd head back home.
We kept seeing the poor bugger around our house for the next few days. Then we had a serious cold snap. Jacob saw him on our windowsill shivering and alerted Rich by meowing.
Rich let him in...

Jacob has a new best friend. We have been checking grocery stores, mailboxes etc.. to see if anyone put up signs but no one has. I guess we will (reluctantly).
He is the sweetest, kindest kitty in the world. Richard and Jacob are especially happy to have him in the house. I've never seen Rich baby an animal like this. It's very cute. The dogs love him too.

Some days you were just meant to stay in bed...

Since being preggers my memory and absent mindedness have certainly gotten worse. It can be very frustrating at times but it forces me to be more organized.

6:50 a.m. Feel pregnificient and well rested.

7:30 a.m. Head to work with my yummy decaf tea and home made muffins.

7:31 a.m. Forgot to gas up the night before but decide to chance it considering traffic has been awesome.

8:15 a.m. Champlain bridge not moving. Getting nervous. Only 50 km until I run out of gas.

8:35 a.m. Decarie jammed. 20 km left. Get off at Atwater to get to nearest gas station.

8:40 a.m. At light, realize that I forgot my wallet. Call Richard to tell him my dilemna. Police pull me over.

8:45 a.m. Receive a $115 ticket for talking on my cell phone while driving.

8:50 a.m. Find $11 in change.

9:30 a.m.  Make it to work only 30 mins late.

Lesson learned: I forget.

All in a day's work...

How awesome is it when you can bring your little one to work? Rich had a work emergency this morning, so I decided to bring baby J to work. I'm lucky to work at a very family oriented company.

We had breakfast in my office and watched some Elmo, then explored the building and cheered everyone up. It's amazing how happy people become when there's a child around at work! Jacob soaked up the attention and showed everyone his new jumping and spinning skills. The President came to tell me that Jacob was very welcome.

He was only there for about 2 hours but it lifted my spirits for the rest of the day. :-)

Jacob Bowling

Jacob threw a few balls but preferred the wind!

Christmas

Christmas was awesome!!! Tons of food and great company!

This was the chaos after opening up all of the gifts Xmas a.m.

...but we were all smiles

...except for Dan and his dog Patch (to whom I coined the name 'Patches of Blood'). Patch is a pretty dominant female who decided to snack on Lexi's ear, leaving lots of blood everywhere. Everything was ok but we kept them separate for the rest of the weekend.

Where's Jacob?

Boxes are way more fun than the toys!

Josh loved all of his presents and was in great spirits

The boys loved this water one. Jacob is adding his own water...

Adam is an awesome Uncle and was a HUGE help all day. He's great with the boys, helped me clean, and even signed himself up for the job of Toy Assembler. He even scored bonus points for complimenting my cooking all day!

It was nice to see Grampy too. He barely made a mess! ;-)

We hardly saw Zach after he opened his Dsi

My Dad loved his gifts, especially his chips in a potato sack

Mom telling Nanny every way to wear her scarf. There are 15. True story.

I loved seeing Jacob and my Nan having fun together. Jacob says "Ta" all the time now.

...and the worst part of Christmas... Rich had gastro! He was pretty much out of commission by early afternoon. He joined us for dinner but couldn't eat. He was good by the next morning but the poor guy suffered!
Then I got hit with it just as I was going to bed. I thought I was having contractions but nope.... I was ok by the morning. There were no other Christmas casualties...

Me feeling better the next day...

The whole gang went to play a few games of bowling...We had lots of fun...

Hope you all had a happy one!!!
